The gatherings with these incredible women make me feel whole. Being able to fully be myself as a Latina Mom and learn from these amazing and inspirational moms feeds my soul and fuels the work I do with students every day. I am grateful to this group. Never underestimate what a few hours of making sofrito can do for your soul. That first event I went to made me realize I was missing something in my life. That I could still be surrounded by Latinas. I moved to LI from Queens 30 years ago. I hadn't made any Latina friends. I felt like I was losing my culture more and more every year. Now it's the opposite. I am gaining it back!

LMC has given us the opportunity to meet like minded people who believe in the importance of teaching our children the values, traditions, customs, and culture of our ancestors. They bring holidays and traditions to life with their music and food. It has provided a full experience using all of the senses for my children to learn more about who they are and where they come from! We are forever grateful for this opportunity!
